The Max Planck Tandem Group on Active Vision, headed by Gustavo Rohenkohl, is seeking candidates for a post-doctoral position. The Active Vision Lab is a Max Planck Tandem Group at the Biosciences Institute (University of São Paulo) and the Ernst Strüngmann Institute (ESI) for Neuroscience in Cooperation with Max Planck Society. The work will be primarily developed in São Paulo, with periods at the ESI in Frankfurt depending on the demand of the project.

The project aims to investigate the relationship between saccades and visual perception, primarily by analysis of electrophysiological recordings in non-human primates. The project also involves psychophysical experiments in humans using gaze-contingent techniques.

Candidates should have expertise on analysis of electrophysiological recordings (preferably on time-frequency decompositions and connectivity analysis). Experience on visual psychophysics, eye-tracking, and ideal observer models of behavioural data are desired, but not a required.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. Candidates should have a PhD degree obtained less than seven years ago. More information about the requirement of the funding agency (FAPESP) can be found here.

The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral fellowship for a total of 4 years, in the amount of BRL 7.373,10 per month and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which may be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
